TEHRAN Since the holy month of Sha'ban is named after holy Prophet Mohammad (S) and there are birth anniversaries Imam Hussein (AS), Imam Zain-ul-Abedin (AS), Imam Mahdi (AS) and Hazrat Abolfazl (AS), this month is known as a month of celebrations.
The Sha'baniyeh' celebrations started yesterday in Azadi and Imam Hussein squares and also Milad Tower in Tehran to commemorate the lunar month of Sha'ban.
The most significant programs of Headquarters for Sha'baniyeh Feast will be held along Vali-e Asr Avenue from Rah-Ahan Square to Tajrish Square.
Religious songs and traditional music will be played during the ceremonies, and street carnivals and horse riding will be held.
Holding ceremonies in this month, especially on Imam Mahdi (AS) birth anniversary has been a tradition in Iran from the ancient times.
